  1. Due to a new look at DNA, 42-year-old Alphonso Owens was indicted in both D.C. and Prince George's County. Owens was indicted on charges of rape, assault, and sexual abuse for incidents in 2011. In 2016, Owens was convicted of first-degree rape for a 2015 attack on a woman in Catonsville. He is currently serving two life sentences plus 25 years at the North Branch Correctional Institute.   2. A Catonsville senior living center received a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) 2023 Medicare Advantage (MA) overall rating of 5 stars. Yesterday, Oct. 13, Erickson Senior Living in Catonsville announced its health plan received the rating. This is the third consecutive year that the health plan received the highest rating available.   3. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is expecting an above-average flu season this year. To help, Baltimore County will offer a week-long series of free flu shot clinics for residents. From Oct. 22 through Oct. 27, Baltimore County will offer mobile clinics in seven locations with additional evening and weekend hours. (WBAL TV)

But Baltimore County Public Schools released a survey and the overwhelming majority said they want traditional snow days, which is closing school for the day.
