- Baltimore County Public Schools and Baltimore County Government released recommendations for the the County's Multi-Year Improvement Plan for All Schools. The update indicates that every school in Baltimore County, including Catonsville, will "receive equitable capital improvements within 15 years and could be completed without any additional revenue increases." - After receiving $480,000 from the state, Catonsville Rails to Trails is set to construct a new crossing ramp on its Short Line Trail. The county is also required to fund at least 20 percent of construction costs for Bloomsbury Crossing, as the project is named. The crossing will link Catonsville residents to Bloomsbury Avenue, which leads to Asylum Lane and UMBC.(Baltimore Sun)
- Former Catonsville High School teacher, Julian ‘Jack’ Lapides, has died at age 89. After his teaching years, Lapides served as a Maryland state senator from 1966 to 1994. Lapides is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Fishman, a former Enoch Pratt Free Library staff member. (Baltimore Sun)
