Parents, Caregivers Asked To Enroll BCPS Students Now

Pre-kindergarten, preschool, kindergarten and older students can be registered now with Baltimore County Public Schools.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Parents and caregivers are being urged to register their students now for school this fall.

To enroll in kindergarten, children must be 5 years old by Sept. 1. To be considered for pre-kindergarten, students must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1 and seats are limited in this program. For preschool, students must be 3 years old on or before Sept. 1 to be considered for enrollment and seats in this program also are limited. Students are registered on a priority basis with priority registration given to those students who demonstrate educational and/or financial need, school officials said.

“We want to see every BCPS student in class and ready to learn on Monday, Aug. 30,” BCPS Superintendent Darryl L. Williams said. “Parents and caregivers of children who will be new to our schools – including parents of preschool, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students – are encouraged to register their children now. Registering before the school year starts ensures that schools can be better prepared to welcome and educate all students.”
