Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:

  1. Yesterday, Sep. 23, a county prosecutor said a preliminary investigation suggests Pine Grove Middle school was not the intended target of a bomb attack. According to police, the bomb may have been a test to see if the device worked, which it did. (Subscription: Baltimore Sun)
  2. On Monday, Sep. 19, 23-year-old Paul Lovley of nearby Halethorpe was arrested in connection with the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol. He faces misdemeanor charges, including entering a restricted building and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building. (Subscription: Baltimore Sun)
  3. A Baltimore County mother, Tiffany Pruitt, wants more crossing guards after her 10-year-old son was hit by a car on his way home from school. Pruitt's son Desmond said, "I looked both ways and he came out of nowhere. I was in lots of pain." Tiffany alleges if there was a crossing guard, the accident would not have happened. Police said the crosswalk is not manned because it is not an official intersection, and crossing guards only work from 3:20 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. (Fox Baltimore)
