Here are the top three stories today in Catonsville:

  1. Investigators suspect a University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) campus police officer, Walter Christopher, has been starting the minor fires at the UMBC campus from late December through April. Investigators theorize that "Hero Syndrome" is the reason Christopher set the fires. He is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center with no bond. (WMAR 2 News)
  2. On Tuesday, Jul. 19, many residents were concerned about abortion and education issues while voting. Catonsville resident and government contractor, 57-year-old Dawn Fuller, said "abortion rights were at the forefront of her mind" as she was voting. (Baltimore Sun)
  3. Baltimore County Democrat Aisha Khan in District 44B and Democratic statehouse candidate, Ruben Amaya, in District 10 submitted almost identical Baltimore Sun voter guide answers. The Maryland House of Delegates candidates both said that community leader Dean Scott, founder of Baltimore County Leaders and Citizens, caused the mishap. (Baltimore Sun)
