- On Tuesday, Sep. 20, two people were arrested in connection with a possible explosive device. The device was found near the Pine Grove Elementary and Middle schools campus; a second device was found at a motel in the 1600 block of Whitehead Court. The victim of a theft told a police officer who was following up on the case that the suspects also intended to make explosives and had purchased the materials. The FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives were alerted and the suspects were tracked to Baltimore County via cell phone data. As of Sep. 21, no further information has been released on the suspects. (Local 21 News)
- A video is circulating that shows a Baltimore County police officer punching and straddling a person on the ground during an arrest in Woodlawn. Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski Jr. has seen the video and requested a review of the actions of the county police officer, including an evaluation of body camera footage from the officers involved. Olszewski's spokeswoman Erica Palmisano said, "Baltimore County is committed to full transparency and will share more information as it becomes available." (Subscription: Baltimore Sun)
- Jaylen Skinner, a 20-year-old Baltimore man, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison with all but 14 years suspended, followed by two years of supervised probation. Skinner was the leader of a crew charged with carjacking and home invasions that operated in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. (Subscription: Baltimore Sun)
