Winning $500K Powerball Ticket Sold In MD, Jackpot Hits $1 Billion
Nobody won Monday's $900 million jackpot, but a ticket worth $500,000 was sold in Baltimore County. The next prize is $1 billion.
CATONSVILLE, MD — Check your Powerball numbers, Maryland. While nobody won Monday's $900 million drawing, a ticket worth $500,000 was sold at a gas station in Baltimore County.
According to a Maryland Lottery news release, a winning Double Play ticket was sold at Westway Liquors at 5312 Edmondson Ave. in Catonsville. Double Play is a second drawing that takes place about 30 minutes after the Powerball drawing. Players can add Double Play to their tickets for an additional $1.
The winning Double Play numbers in the July 17 drawing were 9, 37, 38, 62 and 69. The Powerball was 23.

According to lottery officials, adding the Double Play option allows players to receive a set of numbers for both the regular and the Double Play draw. Double Play has a top prize of $10 million.
The next Powerball drawing is Wednesday. The jackpot is an estimated $1 billion after no one won Monday's $900 million drawing.

Monday's winning numbers were 5, 8, 9, 17 and 41. The Powerball was 21.
Five tickets worth $1 million — meaning they matched all five white balls — were sold in Florida, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York and Kentucky. Tickets worth $2 million — meaning they matched all five white numbers while using the Power Play option — were sold in Georgia, Arkansas and Texas.
