Fresh, Local Fare from the Farmers Market at Maryland

Drop by the front of the Cole Student Activities Building today between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Today—Aug. 15—would have been cooking legend Julia Child's 100th birthday, and the organizers of the Farmers Market at Maryland are hoping you'll mark the occasion by stopping by for some fresh, local fare.

Come to the Cole Student Activities Building between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for a selection that includes:

  • Bonaparte Breads: Bread and French pastries
  • Country Vittles from Critter Hill Farm: Meat products
  • Upper Crust Bakery: Freshly baked breads
  • McLeaf's Orchard: Fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Picnic Gourmet Spreads: Gourmet sweet and savory cheese spreads
  • Springfield Lamb of Kent County, Maryland: Lamb and sheep products
  • Valencia's Produce: Fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Whipple Farms: Biodynamic and heirloom produce

Prince George's County Master Gardeners will also be on hand to answer questions about starting or maintaining a garden, and The Center for Health and Wellbeing will offer body composition testing.
