ICYMI: Bowie to Host International Film Festival

The Bridges to the World festival will include Bowie for the first time during the event Feb. 2 through March 1.

The eighth annual Bridges to the World International Film Festival will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays from Feb. 2 to March 1 at the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts.

The Bridges to the World International Film Festival is a statewide initiative in recognition of the Maryland’s global reach and connections. This is the first year Bowie will be included in the festival.

Admission is free for all of the movies, which are sponsored by World Artists Experiences and the International Division of Maryland’s Office of the Secretary of State.

The festival will feature:

  • Cupcakes from Israel on Feb. 2
  • Cruel Joys from Slovakia on Feb. 9
  • Bamboo Flowers from the Philippines on Feb. 16
  • Breaking the Wave from Panama on Feb. 23
  • Vent and Cham, two films from Syria on Mar. 1

Each film will be introduced and followed by a discussion. Films will be shown with English subtitles.
