The Kelly Johnson Foundation Takes Over College Park

Join the Kelly Johnson Foundation for the University of Maryland's Career Fair and other networking events at The Board and Brew.

The Kelly Johnson Foundation will be taking over College Park, Md. for two days of networking events for University of Maryland students.

KJF will have these events held on Thursday, Oct. 24 and Friday, Oct. 25.

The first of these events is the UMD Communication & Media Internship/Career Fair, where KJF will have their own booth. Students are encouraged to stop by and learn more about the foundation’s internship opportunities. The fair will be located at the Adele H. Stamp Student Union and will take place on Thursday, Oct. 24 from noon to 4 p.m. EST.

Following the fair, KJF is hosting a Happy Hour & Networking event at The Board and Brew from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. EST. Students will have the opportunity to network, chat to, and connect with the KJF team who will be sharing their full-time, part-time and internship positions in fields spanning communication, media, business, marketing, production and more. There will also be a merch giveaway for one lucky winner, and the highest attending club/organization will receive a $50 gift card.

The next event will be a Coffee Chat Live Interview with The Board and Brew on Friday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. EST. Kelly Johnson, KJF’s founder and host of its official podcast, The Daily Grind, will conduct a live interview with The Board and Brew’s owner, Michael Chmar. This free, in-person event is targeted toward college students, go-getters with a side hustle and new biz owners looking to learn. Attendees will get to see the behind the scenes of podcasting, as well as hearing some great advice and stories from Chmar.

“We are excited to travel back to the University of Maryland for our second year on campus,” says Johnson. “We have several opportunities available for students and are looking forward to connecting both at the career fair and happy hour following the event.”

Johnson and KJF are excited to host a live interview with a local business owner in College Park, MD. Johnson says they’re always looking to “support small businesses and provide a platform for them to share their founder story with the surrounding community.”
