Whiz Kid: Kenneth Plotts

Each week, the College Park Patch will feature one Whiz Kid who has made a difference in the community. This week's Whiz Kid is Kenneth Plotts.

Name: Kenneth Plotts

Age: 16

School: Fairmont Heights High School (Biotech Program)

Accomplishment: Kenneth has earned an Eagle Scout with 3 Palms and Boy Scouts of America Venturing Bronze Award. He is also a state-level swimmer, and recently won the 1A,2A and 3A swimming championship in the county meet. He is a lifeguard and swimming instructor at Goshen Scout Reserve and a teacher's aide in 1st grade Religion instruction at Holy Redeemer. He is on his school's honor roll and has earned all Boy Scout Catholic Religious awards.            

Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: Kenneth cites his "God-given ability to swim," as well as the Prince George's County school system for allowing him to continue his contextual learning experience in Biotech, and his supportive teachers, parents and the community. 

When he's not becoming an Eagle Scout or setting swimming records, Kenneth enjoys playing video games and Airsoft. His favorite movie is Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and once he gets his driver's license, the first place he plans to drive is Chipotle.
