We saw and heard a lot of fascinating things during a student celebration that erupted on campus late Sunday night after news broke that Osama bin Laden had been killed by U.S. forces.
Cowboy hats, American flags worn as capes, Santa hats, sombreros and a blow up doll were among our favorite props seen on Route 1.
Though most students were only in grade school when the 9/11 attacks took place, that certainly didn’t temper their enthusiasm.

“We have to get naked because that’s what Osama wouldn’t have wanted,” one student was heard saying.
The party eventually traveled from campus to downtown, then back up to campus at McKeldin Mall, where a bonfire was started near Omicron Delta Kappa Fountain. The fire raged for around 20 minutes before being quashed by fire fighters, thus producing our favorite quote of the night:
