Woman Shot In Laurel Domestic Dispute, 2nd Victim Dead, Gunman Kills Himself
A Laurel man killed himself after fatally shooting a Montgomery County person and wounding a woman in a domestic disturbance, police say.
LAUREL, MD — A Laurel man has died after police say he shot himself after he also shot a woman multiple times in a domestic disturbance.
On Aug. 28 around 10:11 p.m., Laurel police officers were called to the 14200 block of Westmeath Drive for a report of a shooting. Police officers found a woman with multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to a hospital where she was listed in critical but stable condition, according to police.
Officers searched for the suspect, 53-year-old Dario Villard, who fled the scene. Shortly before 8 a.m. Aug. 29, they found the suspect's vehicle in Rockville with the suspect inside. He had sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The suspect also has been linked to a fatal shooting that happened in Montgomery County shortly before he shot himself.
