Winter Weather Advisory Changed For Howard County
The U.S. National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington has canceled the winter weather advisory for Howard County that expired Saturday.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The winter weather advisory issued for Howard County Friday into Saturday has been canceled.
The U.S. National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington posted the advisory from noon Dec. 26 until 12 a.m. Dec. 27 with a forecast of mixed precipitation consisting mainly of sleet, freezing rain and rain as the temperature slowly increases.
Ice accumulation in the winter weather advisory called for a few hundredths of an inch up to one-tenth of an inch in the county, with wind chill values expected to be in the mid-20s to low-30s.

A winter storm packing snow, sleet and freezing rain will move across parts of Maryland on Friday, leading to possible power outages and disrupting post-holiday travel plans, according to the latest forecasts.
Precipitation is likely to move across the Baltimore region on Friday afternoon in the form of sleet or freezing rain, the National Weather Service said. Freezing rain with some sleet mixing in will continue through the afternoon and evening, although some lower elevations may just see rain.
