Report Fallen Tree Limbs, Downed Power Lines From High Winds
Howard Co. residents are asked to call 911 if there are downed trees or limbs blocking traffic and to call 911 for downed power lines.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Residents remain under a wind advisory until 1 a.m. Tuesday and are asked that if they discover fallen trees in the road that are blocking traffic, they're to call 911. If a resident sees a downed power line due to the high winds, leave the area immediately and call 911.
A strong cold front has been forecast to pass through the county Monday, bringing with it strong west winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour and gusts up to 55 miles per hour, as well as rapidly falling temperatures. These high wind gusts bring the potential for downed trees, tree limbs and power lines. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, according to the National Weather Service.
