$100K Winning Powerball Ticket Sold In Howard County At 7-Eleven

The fifth largest Powerball won with a ticket bought in California also included a $100K win for someone who snagged a ticket in Columbia.

COLUMBIA, MD — Before the recent massive Powerball jacket was won by whoever purchased the winning ticket in California, someone bought a lotto ticket at a Columbia 7-Eleven worth $100,000. Maryland had 48,121 winners of prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000 in that drawing. The jackpot ranked as the fifth largest in Powerball history and the seventh largest in U.S. lottery history.

The Howard County store that sold the $100,000-winning ticket is 7-Eleven #11704 at 5740 Columbia Road in Columbia.

Maryland is home to three Powerball jackpot wins: $731.1 million in January 2021 (Lonaconing, Allegany County); $128.8 million in December 2011 (Elkton, Cecil County) and $108.8 million in September 2011 (Abingdon, Harford County). In 2021, Maryland Powerball players have won two $2 million second-tier prizes and three $1 million prizes. The state also sold the first $10 million winning Powerball double play ticket in the nation on Sept. 27 (Rockville, Montgomery County).
