HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The 10th annual U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Giveaway in Howard County has set a new record.

The county executive, recreation and parks department, and the Howard County Public School System together hosted the event Dec. 20. Howard County Executive Calvin Ball and his team of elves were able to distribute toys to nearly 4,000 children.

“While the holiday season is a perfect time for us to reflect and count our blessings and the special people in our lives, for some of our friends and neighbors who may be financially struggling in silence, this time of year can be especially hard,” Ball said. “Through our annual Toys for Tots campaign, we hope to spread love and cheer and help make the holidays a little lighter and brighter for every Howard County child and family. I’m extremely grateful for our enduring partnership with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and thankful to every employee and resident who donated to help make this year’s event a roaring success.”
