2 Finalists In The Running For Student Member Of The Board At HCPSS

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The two finalists for Student Member of the Board have been announced.

River Hill High School senior Erin Alistar and Reservoir High School junior Jeremy Wong have been chosen by their peers from among 13 candidates as the final two 2025-2026 Student Member of the Board candidates. An election for SMOB will be held April 30.

All 6th-11th grade HCPSS students are eligible to vote in the SMOB election, which will be conducted virtually in Canvas. The new SMOB will be sworn in this summer and begin their term immediately after. The student member is eligible to vote on all issues except those pertaining to budget, personnel, or other restricted matters.
