A Howard County shoe lover couldn't believe how fortunate she was when her winning lotto ticket netted $25K.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD ā A shoe lover couldn't believe her luck when she won $25,000 on a Pick 5 lotto ticket. The Columbia woman received a phone call from a family member who wanted to surprise her with a box of candy. The 42-year-old headed to the Waterloo Shell station at 5651 Waterloo Road in Ellicott City on her way to her family member's home.
While there, she bought the quick-pick ticket and placed a 50-cent straight bet that won her $25,000.
āThis canāt be right,ā the sneaker aficionado said after checking her ticket with the numbers on the lottery website.

She called her mother to confirm the winning numbers then yelled, āMom I won!ā In addition to her mother, the lucky winner shared her great news with her sister and some close friends.
The woman has worked in the field of finance for 15 years and plans to use her winnings to fund her nest egg for retirement. In addition to her fondness for sneakers, the winner also is a video gamer and overall techie who enjoys having fun with gadgets.
