$50K Win Claimed By College Student From Elkridge

A college student from Elkridge recently won $50K playing a scratch ticket from the Maryland Lottery.

ELKRIDGE, MD — A college student from Elkridge doesn't play the lottery often, but a recent win scored him $50,000.

The student, majoring in information technology, stopped at the Arundel Mills Exxon at 7043 Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover. He told Maryland Lottery officials that he frequently passes by the location and decided he would try his luck. While still in the store, he scratched his ticket and revealed matching numbers. After double-checking what he thought he saw, and having the store clerk confirm it, it finally sunk in that he won $50,000, lottery officials stated.

The winner told lottery officials he enjoys playing basketball, eating good food and spending time with family.
