$50K Winning Lotto Ticket Bought At Aberdeen Truck Stop By Howard County Man

A Howard County man bought a winning lotto ticket worth $50K at an Aberdeen truck stop. He plans to buy a new car with his winnings.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — While traveling north along I-95, a Howard County man popped into the Sunoco station at the Maryland House Travel Center near Aberdeen.

He picked up a Gold Rush 777 instant ticket and scratched it off in his car. He couldn't believe it ended up being a $50,000 winner.

“I said, ‘Wait a minute. Wait a minute,’” he recalled while claiming his prize at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.

The Howard County resident told Maryland Lottery officials he plans to buy a new car with his windfall and continue playing Lottery games.

The Sunoco is one of two Maryland Lottery retailers at the Maryland House rest stop.
