10 Taken To Hospitals After Route 29 Crash: Police

The victims ranged in age from 9 to 42, police said.

COLUMBIA, MD — Several people were injured in a crash Sunday afternoon on Route 29, police said.

The collision occurred shortly after 3 p.m. when a vehicle entering Route 29 south from the Route 108 ramp lost control and struck two other vehicles, according to Howard County police.

Ten people were taken to hospitals, including the woman driving the striking vehicle, who was in critical but stable condition, police said. The other victims suffered injuries that were minor and not life-threatening, according to police. Those brought to hospitals included two minors and eight adults ages 9 to 42, police said.

The southbound roadway fully reopened around 6:30 p.m., according to police.
