All Rain All Week in Howard County

While areas in the west are experiencing record heat, in the east, we’re facing what seems like never-ending rain. The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for most of Maryland, including Howard County, and there are thunderstorms in the forecast all week.

Monday there’s an 80 percent chance of rain and storms – some of which could produce heavy rainfall. Temperatures should reach the mid-80s during the day, dropping to the low-70s at night. There’s also a 70 percent chance of rain Monday night, mostly before 10 p.m. According to the flash flood watch, some areas could see as much as 4 inches of rain overnight.  

There’s a 70 percent chance of rain and showers Tuesday, when temperatures reach the low-80s. Tuesday night there’s a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms overnight and temperatures will drop to the low-70s.

On Wednesday temperatures will reach the mid-80s during the day and there’s a 50 percent chance of rain during the day, as well as a 30 percent chance at night. Temperatures will drop to the low-70s at night.

For the Fourth of July – Thursday - there’s a 40 percent chance of rain; otherwise expect partly sunny skies and temperatures in the high-80s during the day. There’s also a 30 percent chance of rain Thursday night, when temperatures drop to the low-70s.

Friday’s high will approach 90 degrees and skies will be partly sunny, but there’s also a 30 percent chance of rain. Temperatures will drop to the low-70s at night and skies should be mostly cloudy.
