COLUMBIA, MD — Dill Dinkers, with headquarters in Howard County, plans to open additional pickleball locations in Delaware.
Pickleball, a combination of badminton, Ping Pong and tennis, prompted Denise and Will Richardsto launch the first indoor pickleball court in Howard County. The couple began playing pickleball as a hobby, but then decided it could become a business venture for them, Patch previously reported.
“My wife and I were playing Pickleball in a converted horse arena in Pennsylvania that lacked heat and proper restrooms during the middle of the winter but, despite these deficiencies, the place was packed with participants,” Will Richards told WMAR. “This amazed us and we wondered about the possibilities for a facility that included every modern comfort."

"Five years ago, my wife Mia and I discovered pickleball and quickly became hooked on the sport. We soon encountered the frustrating reality of limited court availability, especially during peak times and bad weather," Jim Cassady said in a news release. “Recognizing the high demand for quality court space and the potential to make a meaningful impact on surrounding communities, we wanted to bring the best pickleball experience to Delaware County and northern Delaware. We're excited to bring this invaluable concept to our community.”
