COLUMBIA, MD — Urban Plates has reopened at Montgomery Mall with several coronavirus-related safety precautions in place. Urban Plates first opened its doors in 2011 with a single restaurant in Del Mar, Calif. Today, there are 19 locations with more slated to open in 2020.

At the Columbia site, tables will be social distanced and food will be delivered directly to tables instead of patrons walking the line. Outdoor patio dining areas have been expanded, too.

ā€œWe’re thrilled to have reopened our three locations in Tysons, Bethesda and Columbia on Aug. 14 and 17. Good nutrition is more important than ever right now, so we’re excited to reopen our doors with new sanitation and social distancing measures in place, and continue with what we do best: providing clean, wholesome meals that are as delicious as they are nutritious," Gil Fornaris, vice president of East Coast operations, told Patch.
