Crews Tackle Exposed Sewer Line Stabilization Project

Crews have started working to stabilize an exposed sewer interceptor in Columbia. Officials do not expect work to affect traffic.

COLUMBIA, MD — Traffic should not be impacted during a project underway in Columbia.

The project is designed to stabilize a 24-inch exposed sewer interceptor across the Little Patuxent River near its junction with the Lake Elkhorn Tributary behind 6926 Allview Drive in Columbia.

Work includes stabilizing the stream bed and banks with riprap in the sewer pipe crossing area. Weather permitting, the project should wrap up by late February 2026.

Crews will be working Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
