Dog Falls Through Ice On Pond, Rescued By Firefighters
A dog on the ice of a pond with its humans fell through Tuesday night. Howard Co. firefighters rescued the dog and reunited it with family.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Firefighters snapped into action and rescued a dog that had fallen through the ice covering a pond Tuesday night.
The incident happened at a body of water in the 10800 block of Timber Line Lane in Ellicott City. Firefighters quickly rescued the dog and reunited it with its family. Before firefighters arrived to help, an individual had gotten into the water. That person was evaluated by EMTs and refused being taken to the hospital, according to the county fire and rescue department.
"As these cold temperatures continue, this is an important reminder of just how dangerous ice can be. If you have kids at home, talk to them about ice safety. Falling through a frozen pond, lake or river can kill you," the county fire and rescue department stated.
