Drivers Will Need To Detour Around Railroad Crossing

A railroad crossing project in Marriottsville will require drivers to take a detour for a few days starting this weekend.

MARRIOTTSVILLE, MD — Drivers will need to find an alternate route while the railroad crossing at Marriottsville Road and Drive Road in Marriottsville is closed.

CSX Transportation start maintenance work on the railroad crossing starting around 8 a.m. on Jan. 17. While the railroad crossing is closed, traffic will be routed via Marriottsville Road, Granite Road, MD 125, Woodstock Road and MD 99, according to county officials.

Weather permitting, the project should wrap up by 7 p.m. Jan. 20. Signs will be posted to alert drivers about the project and detour route.
