Restaurant Chain Brings Bold Burgers, Flavorful Chicken To Downtown Columbia District

A restaurant chain with other locations in MD will be opening up in downtown Columbia's Merriweather District.

COLUMBIA, MD — Nashville hot chicken sandwiches and smash burgers will be landing in downtown Columbia's Merriweather District with the opening of Nash and Smashed.

The standout fast-casual restaurant also offers its signature fried chicken, wings and strips. The smashed burgers come in 3, 6, 9 and 12 ounces while the Nashville hot chicken sandwich gives zing with its bold flavors.

M N Abassi, owner of Nash and Smashed, said the new location in Howard County at 6200 Valencia Lane will bring an exciting dining option to the area.

"The Merriweather District project is a dynamic development that will serve as a cornerstone for our continued growth. We’re proud to join such great co-tenants and even more excited to serve the Columbia community," Abassi said.

The new Virginia-based eatery will occupy 1,557 square feet at the base of Merriweather District’s Marlow, Howard Hughes’ newest multifamily building adjacent to Color Burst Park.

"Nash and Smashed is exactly the kind of offering that we look for to further amenitize the tenant and resident experience bringing more convenient options to the Merriweather District," said Kristi Smith, president of the Maryland Region for Howard Hughes. "We are looking forward to opening another quality dining destination for residents, tenants and the community to gather and enjoy.”

Other businesses in the building include a nail and hair salon, Smashing Grapes, Kyo Matcha, then apartments, Smith told Patch.

There is a Nash and Smashed location open in Silver Spring with additional locations opening in Abingdon and District Heights.
