Fight at Harper's Choice McDonald's: Howard Co. Crime Roundup

The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Columbia: Assault

Police responded to the McDonald’s in Harper’s Choice Village Center Monday around 5:20 p.m. for a reported fight. Officers located a 33-year-old Elkridge man with a knife. The man refused to comply with officer demands and actively resisted. After additional officers arrived, he was taken into custody and charged with first- and second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment and resisting arrest. No one was injured in the fight that was initially reported.

Shortly after 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 10, three unknown suspects approached a victim walking on a footpath near Waverly Winds, assaulted the victim and stole a cell phone and money.

Shortly before 3 a.m. on Sept. 11, an unknown number of suspects entered the rear door of Elegant Twist Hair Salon, on the 7200 block of Cradlerock Way, stealing a laptop and cash.

Ellicott City: Cat Burglary Attempt

At 11:47 p.m. on Sept. 10, an unknown number of suspects broke a window of a residence on the 3100 block of West Springs Drive, but fled when a resident made noise.

Ellicott City: Break-In

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 11, a break-in was reported at a residence on the 3500 block of Mount Ida Drive.

North Laurel: Catburglary Attempt

At 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 11, an unknown suspect attempted to kick in the front door of a residence on the 9500 block of Sylvan Still, but fled when a resident made noise.

Elkridge: Break-In

Between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 11, an unknown number of suspects entered an open garage of a residence on the 6000 block of River Birch Court, entering a vehicle and stealing a purse.

Ellicott City: Indecent Exposure

At 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 11, a suspect walked nude through Centennial Park. A park ranger located the suspect and police arrested the Mt. Airy man, charging him with indecent exposure.

North Laurel: Vehicle Theft

Shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 9, an 18-wheel truck and trailer was stolen from a residence on the 10000 block of Washington Boulevard.

Shortly before 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 9, a trailer was stolen from a residence on the 9100 block of Washington Boulevard.

North Laurel: Vehicle Theft

Shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 10, a 2008 Toyota Corolla with Maryland tags ADYN21 was stolen from a residence on the 8300 block of Sperry Court.

Elkridge: Vehicle Theft

At 8 p.m. on Sept. 10, a vehicle was stolen from a residence on the 6600 block of Stipa Court. Authorities located the vehicle in Baltimore City.

Ellicott City: Vehicle Theft

Shortly before 9 a.m. on Sept. 11, a white 2004 Chevrolet 1500 with Maryland tags 4MD6640 was stolen from a residence on Kaiser Drive.

Elkridge: Commercial Vehicle theft

Shortly before noon on Sept. 11, a 2003 Ford truck was stolen from Elkridge Auto Sales, on the 6600 block of Washington Boulevard.
