Fire Displaces Family Of 3, Kills 1 Pet, Another Missing In Glenwood
A fire broke out Saturday night at a Glenwood home, displacing 2 adults and a child, and killing 1 pet.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Two adults, a child and two pets safely escaped a house fire Saturday in Glenwood. One pet died in the fire and fourth pet remains missing.
Firefighters were called to the house located in the 2800 block of Belle Hollow around 6:30 p.m. Jan. 25. They found a single-family home with flames stretching from the back deck to the main floor and up to the second floor of the house.
The fire continued to spread and it took firefighters from Howard, Frederick, Carroll and Montgomery counties about 2.5 hours to fully extinguish the flames.

According to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue, the two adults, child and one pet fled the home before firefighters arrived.
After the fire was under control, a second pet was found in the home safe. A third died in the fire and a fourth, the family dog, is still missing, the fire department said.

No injuries were reported and the Red Cross has stepped in to help the family.
The cause of the fire has been ruled accidental but the Office of the State Fire Marshal and possibly caused by an electrical malfunction on the deck.
