Fires Ignite In Attic, 2nd Floor Of 2 Howard County Houses

Two separate fires damaged homes in Elkridge and Ellicott City Wednesday. No injuries were reported, according to the fire department.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A house caught on fire Wednesday around 4:45 p.m. in the 8000 block of Green Tree Court in Elkridge while another fire broke out in an Ellicott City home earlier in the day.

According to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue, firefighters arrived and extinguished the fire that was found on the second floor. Crews remained on the scene to investigate the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported.

Also on Wednesday around 7:30 a.m., a fire broke out in the attic of a home located in the 12000 block of Folly Quarter Road in Ellicott City. The fire was quickly extinguished and the cause of the fire has been ruled accidental by the Office of the Fire Marshal, according to the fire department.
