HoCo Lacrosse Athlete Earns Player Of The Year Award

Marriots Ridge freshman Maisy Clevenger has been named player of the year after becoming the leading scorer in the county.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Marriotts Ridge High School's Maisy Clevenger has earned Howard County girls lacrosse player of the year honors. While the coronavirus pandemic ruined the regular season and playoffs of what would've been her freshmen year, Clevenger sprang into action once she could play.

In their season opener, Clevenger scored four goals to help win their match against Mt. Hebron. She ended up finishing the season as the county's leading scorer among public schools, netting 49 points in 11 games. Clevenger and the team also snagged the program's first state championship since 2014.
