ICU Nurse From HoCo Stunned When She Nets $50K On Lottery Ticket
After working numerous long shifts due to the coronavirus pandemic, this ICU nurse from Howard County was thrilled to win $50,000.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — After working long shifts in an area hospital, a 32-year-old intensive care nurse from Columbia stopped at the Food Lion in Hanover for some Lottery "therapy." Imagine her surprise when she won $50,000 on a Fast Play Lucky Numbers game.
According to the Maryland Lottery, the loyal player selected the $10 Lucky Numbers ticket and began searching the game’s numbers for a match. At first, none appeared. She gazed at the ticket, looking from the top to the bottom, before spotting a match with the game’s Lucky Number bonus spot. The prize next to the match was $50,000.
“Being a nurse in a COVID ICU is a stressful job,” she said. “I just want to make sure all the nurses out there know there is hope” for better days.
