JumpStart Community Nights Planned For HCPSS High Schoolers This Month

There will be three JumpStart Community Nights in August for HCPSS students and their parents/guardians. RSVP online to attend.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The Howard County Public School System will host three JumpStart Community Nights in August to help build community, share resources and more.

Community Nights will be held:

  • Tuesday, Aug. 13, 5:30-7 p.m. at Wilde Lake High School
  • Tuesday, Aug. 20, 5:30-7 p.m. at Oakland Mills High School
  • Thursday, Aug. 22, 5:30-7 p.m. at Howard High School

  • Meet & Greet: Students will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with peers across HCPSS who will be attending HCC-based courses.
  • Parents as Partners: Parents and/or guardians will learn how to best support their high school student.
  • Listen & Learn: Students will hear from HCPSS staff about opportunities for additional support, tips for success and advice about engaging in an authentic college experience while balancing life as a high school student.

All students registered for HCC campus-based courses this fall are encouraged to attend at least one community night. Parents and/or guardians are strongly encouraged to join.
