Lanham Man Arrested After MSP K-9 Find Drugs In Vehicle During Howard County Stop
A Lanham man was arrested Wednesday after a MSP K-9 sniffed out drugs in his vehicle that had been stopped in Howard County.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A Lanham man has been arrested on drug and weapons charges after a traffic stop in Howard County early Wednesday morning.
Shortly after 8 a.m., a trooper from the Maryland State Police Waterloo Barrack stopped a Ford Taurus traveling in the 7300 block of Washington Boulevard for an inoperable brake light. During the traffic stop, the trooper decided to conduct a K-9 scan on the vehicle.
According to a preliminary investigation, the K-9 scan made a positive hit, leading troopers to uncover 483 packets of suboxone and a nine-millimeter handgun with a loaded magazine, according to police.

Otha Samuel, 47, has been charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, firearm possession by a convicted felon and other related firearm charges.
