Learn About Proposed Bike Lanes On Thunder Hill Road at Public Meeting
The public is invited to attend a meeting Oct. 17 to learn more about proposed bike lanes along Thunder Hill Road.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The community can attend a meeting Oct. 17 starting at 6 p.m. at The Other Barn to discuss a proposed bicycle master plan project that calls for the installation of bike lanes on Thunder Hill Road from MD 175 to Sohap Lane.
The proposed bike lanes will connect to existing bike lanes that run along Thunder Hill Road from Sohap Lane to White Acre Road and existing bike lanes on Thunder Hill Road north of MD 175.
"Through our BikeHoward bicycle master plan, we are committed to bringing more bike lanes and multimodal facilities to communities across Howard County. To advance this goal, our fiscal year 2025 capital budget included $14.7 million in county funding for sidewalks, bike lanes, pathways and other Complete Streets infrastructure, as well as more than $15 million for critical road resurfacing projects. This commitment builds on our cumulative investment of more than $50 million in multimodal transportation projects during the last five years, reflecting an increase of approximately 300 percent since taking office in December 2018,"said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball.
