Long Reach High Track Team Wins Regional Championship

The high school won the regional championship in 2A South.

This information was provided in a Long Reach High School announcement.

Congratulations to the Boys Outdoor Track Team for it's regional championship win in the 2A South.  The team scored an impressive 122 points easily out distancing Frederick Douglass.  The team was led by Robert Carter who was a regional champion in both the 110m hurdles and the 300m hurdles and Tosin Oyewole who placed 1st in the 200m and 2nd in the 100m.  Charles Moran paced the distance runners with a 2nd place finish in the 1 mile run and a 3rd place finish in the 2 mile.  D'Ante Colbert scored valuable points in the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles.  The two mile relay team of Chris Young, Ralph Erickson, Charles Moran and Nate Kundrat placed 3rd.  Dominic Williams was dominate in the shot put and discus placing 1st and 2nd.  Others scoring key points were Justin Johnson, Charles Kwarten, Eric Thomas, Brian Crandell, Ramsey Carrol and Ralph Erickson.  

For the girls, Bria Hill placed 1st in the triple jump, 4th in both 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles.  Kristen Fawole was 2nd in the triple jump and 3rd in the long jump.  Michelle Vanagas set a new school record in the mile run.  Taylor Selber bounced back after falling in the 100m hurdles to place 3rd in the 300m hurdles.  Hyunjae Kim placed in the 2 mile run and the two mile relay team of Michelle Vanagas, Hyunjae Kim, Angelina Rebazza and Allie Johnston placed 3rd.  Trishna Clarke placed 5th in the triple jump and qualified for the state championships.
