Man Injured In Fight With Armed Suspect, Burglars Use Bolt Cutters To Steal Jewelry: HCPD

A man was injured in a fight with an armed suspect who tried to steal his wallet, reports the Howard County Police Department.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Two armed robberies carried out on the same night were reported by Howard County Police.

On July 30 around 7 p.m., a man told police he was approached by three suspects armed with a gun who stole his phone, backpack and shoes. The incident happened in the 8700 block of Airybrink Lane in Columbia. The victim wasn't injured, police said.

Then nearly four hours later around 10:58 p.m., a man told police he was walking in the 10400 block of Hickory Ridge Road in Columbia when a suspect approached him, threatened him with a knife and demanded he turn over his wallet. The two fought and the victim sustained minor injuries, police said.

Elite Jewelry, located in the 10300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, was burglarized that same day shortly before 9 p.m. The suspects used bolt cutters to access the store and then stole jewelry, according to police.
