Man Robbed Buying Cell Phone From 2 Strangers + Home Intruder Arrested: HCPD Report

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A man was robbed while meeting with two people he intended to buy a cell phone from, according to police.

The incident happened Oct. 26 around 3:40 p.m. The man had arranged to meet with two people he thought were selling him a cell phone. They met at a predetermined location in the 6700 block of Martin Road. The two suspects stole the victim's cash and took off, according to Howard County Police.

The two men were later found and arrested. Yakoob Moore, 25, and Ameen Moore, 23, both of Columbia, have been charged with robbery, assault and theft.

In other police news, a resident at a home in the 8800 block of Goose Landing Circle in Columbia, reported a suspect had entered the home by forcing open the door on Oct. 27 around 3:32 a.m. Police found the suspect inside the home and arrested him. Jarod Reaves, 38, of Odenton, has been charged with burglary, theft and destruction of property.

Patapsco Bicycles, located in the 11700 block of East Market Place in Fulton, reported a suspect(s) had broke the front glass door, went inside and stole a bicycle in the overnight hours Oct. 27-28.

Between Oct. 24 and Oct. 28, eight vehicle owners reported break-ins:

• Hanover, 21076: 7000 block of Southmoor Street, Oct. 24-26, nothing reported stolen
• Elkridge, 21075: 7200 block of Montgomery Road, Oct. 25-26 overnight, nothing reported stolen
• Columbia, 21044: 10400 block of Faulkner Ridge Circle, Oct. 26-28, nothing reported stolen
• Columbia, 21044: 5400 block of Fallriver Row Court, Oct. 27-28 overnight, nothing reported stolen
• Columbia, 21044: 5400 block of Green Dory Lane, Oct. 27-28 overnight, nothing reported stolen
• Laurel, 20723: 9100 block of Blues Alley, Oct. 26-28, tires
• Ellicott City, 21043: 4300 block of Montgomery Road, Oct. 26 3:30-6:30 p.m., purse
• Ellicott City, 21042: 3300 block of Norberts Way, Oct. 27 4-4:40 p.m., multiple vehicles: various items
