Police Arrest Man Who Robbed Food Truck Parked In Jessup With Knife, Steals Cash

Police have arrested a man they say robbed a food truck with a knife that was parked in Jessup. He took off with cash, police reported.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A food truck was robbed at knifepoint Wednesday in Jessup but police were able to track down the suspect and arrest him.

The incident happened Aug. 21 around 6:30 p.m. in the 8800 block of Washington Blvd. A woman working at the Las Delicias Taqueria Y Pupuseria food truck told Howard County Police that a man climbed into the truck, pulled out a knife and stole cash before taking off. No one was injured, police reported.

Officers found the suspect, David Viteri-Hervas, 54, of Columbia, and charged him with armed robbery, robbery, assault and theft.
