Mimosa Reception for Teachers Opens Books in Bloom Festival May 10
Snacks, raffle prizes and appearances by featured writers Kwame Alexander and Laurie Frankel and book reviewer Maureen Corrigan are included

The 9th annual Books in Bloom festival, set for Saturday, May 10, will open with a Reception for Teachers, from 10-10:45 a.m., featuring complimentary Mimosas and snacks, raffle prizes and appearances by some of the authors showcased during the festival: Kwame Alexander, multi-talented creator of books (including YA award-winner The Crossover), TV shows and podcasts; bestselling novelist Laurel Frankel, a Columbia native and author of Family Family; National Public Radio book reviewer Maureen Corrigan; children’s book writers Sue Flies and Ann Marie Stephens, co-authors of So Many Books released this month, and others.
Books in Bloom is held in Color Burst Park, Merriweather District, Downtown Columbia. The Reception for Teachers is free and open to all educators – pre-school, K-12 and college, no matter where you teach. Registration is required.
