HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.
Salem prefers a quiet home and loves attention and chasing string toys. This 7-year-old neutered male looks like he's a British shorthair mix. He's a bit nervous at first, but once he warms up to you, he'll come over and rub on your hand to let you know he'd like your attention. He'd likely do best in an adult home or a home with older children who can understand how to be gentle with him. He loves following his humans around and watching what they're doing.

As a playful kitten, Buckey loves to cuddle when he's tired out. He's adventurous and learning that toys are more fun than fingers. He did well with a respectful dog before, too.

A small young guinea pig, Rex is quite cute and bashful. It takes a bit to coax him out of his sleeping box but once he's comfortable, he enjoys snacking on celery, carrots and pieces of apple. Rex had been abandoned outside and it's surprising he survived.

Mickey Mickey the rabbit is a 1-year-old female New Zealand white rabbit who is very gentle. She's accustomed to be held and actually will cuddle. She'll even fall asleep while you're petting her. She gets along well with kids and enjoys snacking on carrots and cilantro.
