Road Closed For Emergency Work On Frederick Road Bridge Starting Oct. 23 In Howard County

A stretch of Frederick Road will be closed starting Monday in Howard County so crews can make emergency repairs to the bridge there.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Emergency repair work on the Frederick Road bridge spanning the Hudson Branch will start Oct. 23 around 7 a.m.

The bridge, located between 8905 to 8899 Frederick Road in Ellicott City, will undergo bridge deck repairs, the replacement of bridge barriers and approach roadway traffic barriers, and resurfacing of the roadway approaches to the bridge.

While the work is being done, this section of Frederick Road will be closed to all traffic. For approximately eight weeks, traffic will follow a marked detour using Frederick Road to St. Johns Lane, US 40 and Rogers Avenue.

Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed by late December 2023.
