Road Rage Shooting In Howard Co. Leads Maryland State Police To Arrest Baltimore Co. Man

An Owings Mills man has been arrested in connection to a road rage shooting that happened on a Howard County highway Aug. 12.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — An Owings Mills man has been charged with attempted murder in connection to a road rage incident in Howard County.

On Aug. 12 around 1:30 p.m., Maryland State Troopers received a report about a shooting on I-95 at mile marker 44 in Howard County. The victims told police they were shot at during a road rage dispute with another driver behind the wheel of a white Volkswagen, Maryland State Police report.

Troopers saw that the victim’s vehicle had been shot through the passenger compartment. The Maryland State Police Crime Scene Unit processed the victim’s vehicle for evidence and subsequently recovered bullets. The victims were uninjured during the incident, according to Maryland State Police.

State Police investigators were able to identify and find the white Volkswagen and the driver who was identified as Quwan Gordon, 48. Search warrants were served at Gordon’s Owings Mills address and on Volkswagen, leading to the seizure of felony amounts of suspected MDMA, fentanyl and a loaded handgun. Gordon is prohibited from possessing firearms based on prior felony convictions, according to police, who were able to link Gordon to the road rage incident.

Gordon was arrested Aug. 13 and charged with attempted murder and related offenses.
