Savage Library Branch Closed Until Further Notice
The Savage library branch closed Friday and will remain closed until further notice, library leaders stated.
LAUREL, MD — The Savage Branch of the Howard County Library System is closed until further notice.
The library posted about the closure on its Facebook page around 12 p.m. on Friday.
On its website, an alert banner stated that, "Due dates will be extended into December. Holds shipped, and those ready for pickup, will remain on the hold shelf through December 10. While Savage is closed, please visit us online or at one of the other five library branches. We apologize for any inconvenience."

Other groups, such as the Patuxent Valley Middle School PTA, shared on Facebook they were informed that a staff member from Savage tested positive for carbon monoxide Nov. 20 and is being treated. The library closed Friday to start remedying the problem, the social media post stated.
As of Friday afternoon, the Howard County Library System had not officially shared on social media or its website what prompted the closure.

The Savage Branch of the library is located at 9525 Durness Lane in Laurel.
