HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.

Mario may be bashful at first and being found lost and hungry in the Guilford Road area has caused him to be even more timid. But he's grateful to have a soft bed and a full belly each day. He just needs a bit more time to warm up to people. He seems to be worried about people's hands, so his new family will need to move slowly and speak gently at first. He'll do best in an adult only home or one with older teenagers. He's absolutely adorable and deserves a wonderful family.

With the sweetest face and soulful eyes, Bell is a 4-year-old female border terrier mix who needs an adult only home or one where the kids are teenagers. She's quite timid, so obedience training would be a good idea to help her with socializing. She'd make a great companion for someone wanting a small lap dog who just wants to be loved.

Yodels happens to be super sweet and engaging who loves long walks. This 1-year-old female all-American mix was found as a stray in the Pfefferkorn Road area, thin and unsure of others. Now that she receives regular meals and safe place to stay with loads of love from staff and volunteers, Yodels has warmed up to people and can't wait to head to her forever home.

Totally adorable Toodles is a 1-year-old male Coton De Tulear. He's vocal and may not do best in an apartment or condo. He was found as a stray in the Laurel area and will need a slow introduction to any pets already in his future forever home. His beautiful coat requires weekly and monthly maintenance to avoid matting. He'll need obedience training as he's still like a puppy.

Schatzi is a shy mixed breed dog who is looking for a very gentle, quiet home. Schatzi is a 1-year-old female who looks like she may have some miniature schnauzer in her. Schatzi wants to meet new people, but she is worried about what they are going to do to her so she would benefit from socializing around gentle people who will treat her kindly.

Once Schatzi knows you, she is quite sweet and cuddly. She likes to be held and watch what her humans are doing. She will follow you around, wanting to be your buddy. Schatzi tends to be quite nervous being handled and would do best in an adult home or a home with older teenagers who can understand how to be very gentle with her.
