Woman Killed In Crash After Vehicle Hits Tree Near Laurel, Child Passenger Survives Crash
A woman has died after her car hit a tree near Laurel. A child on board was evaluated at the hospital, according to Howard County Police.
LAUREL, MD — A woman has died after the vehicle she was driving lost control on a curve and hit a tree. A child in the vehicle was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
According to the Howard County Police, the incident happened around 10:45 p.m. Saturday. The woman, later identified as Meshala Williams, 28, of Laurel was driving a 2013 Hyundai Sonata and heading eastbound on Whiskey Bottom Road. When Williams was passing Kings Post Court, she didn't negotiate the curve in the road and hit a tree. Williams was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where she was pronounced dead.
Whiskey Bottom Road was closed between Kings Post Court and Route 1 for approximately 2.5 hours overnight.
