Youth Indoor Basketball Returns To Howard County For Fall

The coronavirus pandemic shut down indoor youth sports, but the HYBA will offer its Friday night basketball league this fall.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Youth indoor basketball will return this fall to Howard County. The Howard Youth Basketball Alliance could not offer its highly anticipated spring league due to the coronavirus pandemic and restrictions imposed upon indoor sports.

Coined the original Friday night league, the youth basketball program offered through HYBA is open to boys and girls in grades kindergarten through 12th grade. Founded in 1992 and composed of 192 young people in the inaugural season, HYBA has grown to serving more than 3,000 kids and 400 teams per year between its spring and fall basketball programs.
