There's still more than two months before the big event to raise money for cancer research, but some teams have a great head start.

The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life is not until May 17, but teams in west Anne Arundel County have already raised thousands of dollars.
Just a few weeks after the official kickoff, 29 local teams comprised of 148 people have raised more than $12,000.
The top fundraiser so far is the "Caring Hearts" team, led by team captain Rolinda Mcilwain. The team has raised more than $5,055 from 20 members.
